Christmas Candle 2015; December 24th

'Twas the night before Christmas,

And in Stalybridge Town,

The people were smiling,

With never a frown.

Mr Judge sits and watches,

Before the Old Market Hall,

The sundial waits sunshine,

On warm days and cool.

The Old Town Hall remembers,

The times of the past,

And dreams of the future,

Where the towns will lasts

All of us would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. An Extra special thank you to all the shops that participated in the Christmas Candle event, It was very nice of you to put up with our Photographer bounding in and asking for photos.

The poem of course is 'A Visit from St. Nicholas' or as it's more commonly known as 'Twas the Night before Christmas' and was originally written by Clement Clarke Moore in 1823. This is a version retold Stalybridge style by us at Stalybridge Town.

The Original can be found everywhere.
