Christmas Candle, 13th December 2013

GOODNIGHT STALYBRIDGE......

Tonight I would like to share a post with you that was left on our wall last night. It pretty much sums up what we're trying to say with our Christmas Candle:

Angela Trewinnard wrote: "Had a lovely afternoon with Philip Trewinnard finally managing to get lots of presents from various shops in Stalybridge. Today we bought things from Petz World, Magpie's Nest, Limer's Card shop, Heaven's Above Gift Shop, Harwicks Health Shop, Gallery 23, *Music Corner, Taylor's Electrical shop and the Post Office. We had lunch in No 10 Coffee Shop and tea in Ghurka Spice. I picked up pre bought items from Sara Dip and Tea and our gifts included Fair Trade, hand made, recycled, vintage, and expertly photographed. There are still some places I need to visit, such as you Marie Bennett Spence We also picked up Christmas order leaflets from 5 A Day and Mettricks butchers. Who says Stalybridge has nothing to offer? Just give it a try! Oh - and the food was delicious!"

We couldn't have said it any better ourselves!

Today I popped into one of the shops Angela visited on her way round and I took our candle with me. Harwicks Health Store on Corporation Street is a place full of surprises. I have to admit that this was my first ever visit here. Certainly won't be my last.

Harwicks was like a little Aladdin's Cave. On the shelves were the massive range of health products, supplements and vitamins I expected to see. Alongside them, however, were some fantastic little gift ideas. You can see some lovely little Christmas puddings at the front of our picture. Hidden underneath one of the large ones i found an exquisitely presented Terry's Chocolate Orange. What was it I said last night? It's the small things!

You'll also now find a good choice of ladies fashions upstairs. Call in and say hi to Sharon and Alan next time you're in the town centre. You'll be amazed at what you find.

For now Stalybridge we bid you a chilly goodnight. Look forward to seeing you over the weekend.

Sleep well.
